Program Awards

The BScPA Program would like to acknowledge achievements by students, alumni and teachers/faculty in the program. As of July 2017, this will be an annual process, with the nomination period running July 15 -August 31.

Summary of awards:

Award description Eligibility nomination selection criteria
1. BScPA Program Academic Achievement (Student Award) Academic Achievement of a graduating Physician Assistant Student A Year 2 BScPA Student in good standing n/a Student with the highest cumulative grade point average (cGPA) in their cohort, upon program completion (15 credits)
2. PA Student of the Year (Student Award) A Year 2 PA Student for demonstrating exemplary qualities of a Physician Assistant

Any Year 2 BScPA Student in good standing.

Winner of the Academic Achievement Award is not eligible for this award

3. Rising Star Award (Alumni Award) An alumna/alumnus of the BScPA Program for their outstanding contributions to the PA Profession A graduate of the BScPA Program Nominated by peers, self, faculty or PA/MD teachers

4. Excellence in Teaching Award (Faculty Award) Outstanding teaching in the BScPA Program Any teacher (including facilitators and preceptors) in the BScPA Program Nominated by students
  • Contributes to student learning as a role model for others
  • Commitent to quality teaching
5. PA Role Model Award (Faculty Award) Outstanding Physician Assistant involved in the BScPA Program Canadian Certified Physician Assistant involved in the BScPA Program Nominated by students, peers, self, faculty or PA/MD teachers
  • Demonstratest the key roles that define a Physician Assistant
